Barbara, one of my treasured Feminine Power Course Sisters brought this Ted talk to my attention, understanding my call to nature and recognizing the synergies I might feel with Zaria Forman. I love her art and her story and I think you will too. In our busy world it can be hard to find time to stop and listen, to be sparked by like minds or new thoughts - Her Ted Talk is only 7:12 and worth every second. Her art is stunningly beautiful, too.
I found another short Ted talk, by Camille Seaman, 4:10, on the same subject. As I have recognized over the last months my connection with nature and my knowing that all of life is interconnected and all things are made of the same stuff, I have at times felt alone as though I am a pioneer. As I find others who speak the same language, who breathe deeply the spirit of nature recognizing themselves as part of this miracle, I am heartened to know there are so many others on the same path working to save our very existence. I wonder how I could have ever felt alone. We are all on this journey together.
Camille talks of breathing in the ancient air of a crumbling iceberg as she witnesses this event, air that may be 2000 - 100,000 years old. A stunning observation that made my heart stop for a moment. As our polar ice caps melt, as our icebergs crumble from global warming, structures 1000's and 1000's of years old are disappearing, our very earth is crumbling. We must wake up.
